Level Cap¶
The highest level a Pokemon can reach in a given context.
The standard cap¶
Every normal Pokemon caps at level 100. Once a Pokemon is at its cap, all incoming experience is discarded.
Shadow tier caps¶
Tiered Pokemon raise the cap per tier:
| Tier | Level cap |
|---|---|
| Normal | 100 |
| Shadow | 100 |
| Corrupt | 120 |
| Void | 150 |
| Abyss | 200 |
| Eternal | 400 |
| Infinity | 1000 |
How leveling works at each stage:
- Shadow tier gains no experience at all. Everything it earns is banked and paid out when you purify it at the Purification Shrine or with a Time Flute.
- Corrupt and higher keep leveling past 100 normally: battle experience keeps flowing all the way to the tier's cap, and Exp Candies work too.
- Rare Candies and rare sodas never work on any tiered Pokemon, at any tier.
Tiers are raised at the Cloning Machine.
Other caps¶
- Catching Type Zone spawns are capped at your current Catching level, on top of each evolution stage's own zone level band.
- Story region gyms cap your party by generation, not level: see Story Regions for the per-region table.
