Skill World Mining Nodes¶
The Skill World mining area, in the northeast of the hub ring, holds ore nodes you can grind hands-off to train Mining. Nodes let you level without hunting for ore in the overworld.
How nodes work¶
Left-click a node block with a pickaxe to start working it. A progress bar fills over ten segments, then the swing completes and the next one starts automatically. Nodes never deplete: as long as you hold the pickaxe, stand still, and keep looking at the node, you mine indefinitely. A session only ends when you move, look away, swap tools, the pickaxe breaks, or your inventory fills (the AFK Overflow perk lifts that last limit).
- Ore is a chance per swing, XP comes with the ore. Not every swing drops ore; when one does, it carries the node's Mining XP with it. Higher nodes drop less often but each drop is worth far more XP and money.
- Nodes drop what real mining would give: raw iron, raw gold, diamonds, coal, raw silver, raw platinum, and Thunder Stone shards.
- Speed depends on your pickaxe. Netherite is three times faster than anything else; every Pixelmon pickaxe mines at the diamond rate. Efficiency shortens each segment by 8 percent per level. Full speed and durability charts are on Pixelmon Tools.
- Durability drains about 2 per swing on any pickaxe, so the tool's durability pool sets your session length (netherite lasts about 1,000 swings). The AFK Efficiency perk can eliminate the drain.
- Skill Points accrue every swing, from about 50 per hour on Stone up to about 1,000 per hour on Platinum.
Look at a node to pop a floating label showing its name and required Mining level, colored green if you meet it and red if you do not.
Node tiers¶
Each node type has a required Mining level. XP arrives bundled with the ore drops; the base values below set each node's relative worth, and your real rate scales with the AFK XP Boost perk (unboosted training runs at one sixth of the tier V rate).
| Node | Mining level | Base XP | Drops |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stone | 1 | 30 | Stone (every swing) |
| Coal | 3 | 100 | Coal |
| Iron | 14 | 200 | Raw Iron |
| Gold | 32 | 350 | Raw Gold |
| Silver | 40 | 500 | Raw Silver |
| Diamond | 52 | 1,500 | Diamond |
| Ancient Debris | 67 | 2,500 | Netherite Scrap, or a gemstone consolation |
| Thunder Stone | 80 | 4,000 | Thunder Stone Shard |
| Platinum | 95 | 5,000 | Raw Platinum |
Ancient Debris is the gamble node: it pays a Netherite Scrap about once per 15 seconds of mining on average, and failed rolls sometimes spit out a random gem instead. It is a money node more than an XP node. The Seeker enchant improves its scrap odds.
The area spawns at least one node of every type, then fills the rest of its spots with a weighted mix (about 40 percent Stone). Prestiging Mining lowers the XP you earn afterward by 5 percent per prestige rank.
