World Boss Raids¶
A World Boss Raid is a 14-wave co-op battle in the City world. Every player fights the same boss Pokemon at once, sharing a single health pool, as it climbs from level 70 all the way to level 1000. Rewards are paid out after every wave, so anyone who lands a hit gets something.
When and where¶
Raids happen in the City world at the raid arena. They are rolled in place of the regular world boss, with a 1 in 10 chance each time. Monday through Thursday the world boss is scheduled every hour; Friday through Sunday it runs every 30 minutes, so raids come around roughly twice as often.
When a raid starts it is announced, and the boss appears as a giant statue at the arena.
How to join¶
There is no sign-up. Once a raid is live you can jump in three ways:
- Walk within about 5 blocks of the raid statue with a legal team.
- Throw a Poke Ball that has a Pokemon in it at the statue.
- Use
/worldboss(or/worldboss tp) to teleport to the arena, then engage the statue.
Some very disruptive moves, abilities, and items are banned in the raid. Every player battles their own copy of the boss, but all the damage adds up against one shared health bar, so a big crowd melts through waves fast.
The wave ladder¶
There are 14 waves. The boss species is re-rolled from a pool of powerful Pokemon and legendaries at the start of every wave, but the level and shadow tier of each wave are fixed:
| Wave | Level | Tier |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 70 | Normal (random Mega, Gigantamax, or Dynamax form) |
| 2 | 100 | Normal (random Mega, Gigantamax, or Dynamax form) |
| 3 | 100 | Shadow |
| 4 | 120 | Corrupt |
| 5 | 150 | Void |
| 6 | 200 | Abyss |
| 7 | 300 | Eternal |
| 8 | 400 | Eternal |
| 9 | 500 | Infinity |
| 10 | 600 | Infinity |
| 11 | 700 | Infinity |
| 12 | 800 | Infinity |
| 13 | 900 | Infinity |
| 14 | 1000 | Infinity (finale) |
The boss's health scales up every wave. After a wave falls, the next boss appears about 15 seconds later. A HUD at the top of your screen shows the current wave, the boss's remaining health, and the raid timer. The whole raid times out after 30 minutes.
Rewards¶
After each wave, every player who dealt damage gets money, keys, and a plushie of that wave's boss. On top of that, the top three damage dealers earn bonus money and keys, and the top three also get a chance at rare pulls (Legendary Orbs, Master Balls, Gold Bottle Caps, and higher up Supreme Keys and Supreme Orbs). First place has the best odds, second and third progressively lower.
Rewards grow every wave. Early waves pay Mystery Keys and a few thousand dollars; the middle waves shift to Shiny Mystery Keys; and from wave 9 on the top finishers start earning Texture Keys. The wave 14 finale pays out Supreme Keys.
| Wave | Everyone (with a hit) | Keys |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $5,000 | 1 Mystery Key |
| 5 | $11,000 | 1 Shiny Mystery Key |
| 10 | $28,500 | 2 Shiny Mystery Keys |
| 14 | $50,000 (or 1 Supreme Key if you qualify) | see below |
On the wave 14 finale, players who contributed a large enough share of the damage qualify for a Supreme Key, and first and second place earn 2 and 1 Supreme Keys plus money. Clearing wave 14 ends the raid with a server-wide victory announcement naming the top three heroes. There is no separate bundle for finishing all 14 waves; the wave 14 payout is the completion reward.
Tips¶
- You only need to land one hit per wave to collect the participation reward, so even a single strong attacker benefits.
- Higher damage means top-3 bonuses and a shot at the rare pull table, so bring your strongest legal team.
- The whole thing is on a 30-minute clock. Get to the arena quickly once the announcement fires.
