Vanilla 1.21 Content

Minecraft's own 1.21 structures are woven into the server. Trial chambers, villages, and ancient cities all host custom Pokemon encounters instead of vanilla mobs, complete with bosses, Shadow Pokemon releases, and their own loot. There are no commands for any of this: it all happens as you explore.

Trial chambers

In a trial chamber, every trial spawner produces a wild boss Pokemon rather than a vanilla mob. The species is random, and the boss tier depends on whether the spawner is ominous:

Spawner Boss tier
Normal 70% Common, 30% Rare
Ominous 70% Epic, 30% Ultimate

A spawner becomes ominous if it is naturally ominous or if a player within 24 blocks is carrying Bad Omen, the effect you get from drinking an Ominous Bottle. Boss levels come from the tier itself, so tougher tiers hit harder. Defeating an Ultimate boss is announced to the server.

Beaten bosses have a 30% chance to drop a Trial Key (or an Ominous Trial Key from an ominous boss), which you use to open the chamber's vaults.

Vaults

Opening a trial vault with a key always gives one pre-trimmed piece of armor: diamond with a bolt trim from normal vaults, netherite with a flow trim from ominous vaults (the trim material is random). On top of that you get 2 to 3 extra rewards from a pool of candies, bottle caps, Mystery Keys, diamonds, netherite, and more. Vaults can also contain an Ominous Bottle (30% from normal vaults, 45% from ominous ones), the server's main source of Bad Omen.

Unlocking a vault grants Dungeoneering XP (2,000 from a normal vault, 5,000 from an ominous one), and has a chance to release a snaggable wild Shadow Pokemon at level 60 to 80 (15% from normal vaults, 30% from ominous ones).

Village raids

Carrying Bad Omen into a village starts a raid. Instead of pillagers, the villagers' guardians turn on you:

  • Armed NPCs grab a sword or axe and chase you down, hitting for 2 hearts a swing. Cut one down and it respawns after a minute.
  • Trainer NPCs force a battle when you get within 5 blocks, on a 10 minute cooldown each.

There is a 30% chance a raid trainer is carrying a snaggable Shadow Pokemon, scaled to their team's level (at least level 20). Snag it if you can, because it is removed from their team once the battle ends. You can also start a village trainer battle by throwing a Poke Ball at them while under Bad Omen.

While you carry Bad Omen, opening a village loot chest yields double loot.

Deep dark and the Warden

In an ancient city, walking within 5 blocks of a sculk shrieker (while standing, not crouching, with a healthy lead Pokemon) summons a Warden boss: a warden-palette Pokemon from a small roster (Archaludon, Golem, Tyranitar, Metagross, or Golisopod). It is a level 400, uncatchable boss with a personal 30 minute cooldown, and it hits back hard. Lose and the Warden crushes you (an instant defeat), so come prepared.

Win and you earn a random smithing template. There is also a 30% chance a catchable warden-palette version of the same species (level 100, with three perfect IVs) appears where the boss fell.

Ancient city chests also have a small chance to hold the rare Silence and Ward armor trims on their first open.
