TMs and TRs

Technical Machines (TMs) and Technical Records (TRs) are discs that teach a compatible Pokemon a move. Each disc teaches one specific move, and the disc icon on a Pokedex species page shows that move's type.

Reusable on this server

Both TMs and TRs are reusable here. Teaching a move does not use the disc up, so one disc teaches the same move to as many Pokemon as you like. Standard Pixelmon makes TRs single use, but this server keeps both permanent.

Where to get them

  • TM/TR Shop: found in the main /shop menu as "TM/TR Shop + Move Learner". It stocks every TM and TR across all generations (Gen 1 to 9 TMs plus the Gen 8 TRs), bought with in-game money. Search by move name from the Search button, and page through the full list.
  • Grand Exchange: TMs and TRs can be listed and bought player to player.
  • Disc Case: a dungeon reward item that stores your discs. It is personal storage only, so it holds discs you already own rather than creating new ones.

Shop prices are tiered by how strong the move is:

Tier Price
Standard move $12,500
Utility move $15,000
Strong move $17,500
Top-tier move $20,000

You can also sell unwanted discs through the sell menus.

Move Learner

The same shop has a Move Learner button, also reachable anywhere with /learn. It teaches a party Pokemon any move it can legally learn for a money cost, so you do not need the physical disc. It covers the same move pools the discs do.

The Shadow restriction

A base-tier Shadow Pokemon cannot be taught TMs or TRs. Try it and you are told it is a shadow Pokemon and cannot learn TMs or TRs until purified. The disc is not consumed and the move is not taught. Purify it and it learns discs normally. Only the base Shadow tier is blocked: the higher shadow tiers can use discs.
