Pokemon Stats and Growth¶
A quick glossary for the numbers on Pokedex species pages, and how this server lets you view and change them.
The numbers on a species page¶
- Base stats: a species' innate HP, Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, and Speed. Higher totals mean a stronger Pokemon at the same level.
- EV yield: effort values awarded to your Pokemon for defeating that species. EVs add bonus stats, up to 252 per stat and 510 total.
- Catch rate: how easy a species is to catch, from 3 (hardest) to 255 (easiest).
- Experience group: the growth curve that sets how much experience the species needs per level (Fast, Medium Fast, Medium Slow, Slow, Erratic, Fluctuating).
Your Pokemon's own stats¶
Every individual Pokemon has three extra layers on top of its species base stats:
- IVs (individual values): a hidden roll from 0 to 31 in each stat, fixed at creation. Perfect is 31.
- EVs (effort values): trained points that grow as you battle, capped at 252 per stat and 510 total.
- Nature: one of 25 personalities that raises one stat 10% and lowers another (five neutral natures change nothing).
Viewing and editing them here¶
Open the Poke Builder with /pokebuilder (/pb) and pick a party Pokemon to see its exact IVs (out of 31), EVs (out of 252, with the 510 total), current nature, and ability. The same menu edits them for Poke Dust, the per-type dye currency. You pay with dust matching the Pokemon's type (dual-type Pokemon can pay with either type or a combination):
| Edit | Poke Dust cost |
|---|---|
| IV | 40 per point added |
| EV | 1 per 4 points added |
| Nature | 100 |
| Ability (normal) | 12 |
| Ability (hidden) | 36 |
| Gender | 8 |
You can only raise IVs and EVs toward the caps, never above them: IVs cap at 31, EVs at 252 per stat and 510 total, the same as standard Pixelmon. Ditto's IVs cannot be edited.
Two shortcuts sit outside the menu:
- Nature mints: buy any of the 25 nature mints for 25,000 each at the Mint Market shop to change nature without dust.
- Ability items: Ability Capsules (normal swap) and Ability Patches (hidden ability) are sold in the Training and Breeding shop, the Battle Point shop, and the Player Gym shop.
The Poke Builder can also make a Pokemon shiny, raise its level, add cosmetic particles and ribbon tags, and start a personal outbreak, all for Poke Dust.
