Training Area¶
The city's Training Area is a room built for fast Pokemon training. One wall of EV statues lets you pour effort values into a single stat, and a row of Blissey trainers sells big chunks of experience. There are no commands here: everything works by walking up and interacting.
EV training statues¶
Six statues line the training walls, one for each stat. Punch a statue, or throw a Poke Ball at it, to start a quick hidden battle against a level 2 copy of that species. It only knows Splash, so a single hit knocks it out and awards its natural effort values. Each of these species yields 2 EVs in its stat, so every fight is +2 EVs toward the matching stat.
| Statue | Trains |
|---|---|
| HP | |
| Attack | |
| Defense | |
| Special Attack | |
| Special Defense | |
| Speed |
Floating text above each statue names the stat it trains. There is no cost, no cooldown, and no random chance: every punch starts a fight, as long as you are not already in a battle and have a healthy Pokemon in your party. Repeat the fights to reach the effort value totals you want. The usual caps apply: 252 EVs per stat, 510 total.
Blissey trainers¶
Four Blissey stand along another wall, each set to a fixed level. Interact with one and a confirmation menu asks you to pay a fee. Pay it, and the Blissey immediately faints itself so your lead Pokemon collects the experience for beating a high-level opponent. It is a quick, paid experience boost.
| Blissey level | Fee | Experience |
|---|---|---|
| 25 | $1,000 | +2,000 |
| 50 | $2,500 | +5,000 |
| 75 | $5,000 | +7,500 |
| 100 | $7,500 | +10,000 |
Good to know¶
- The training Pokemon can never be caught and drop no items. Throwing a ball at a statue starts the fight, but the ball is consumed, so punching is the cheaper option.
- These fights give only reduced Battling skill experience and do not count toward your battle combo, so the Training Area is purely for building your team, not for grinding the Battling skill.
