Bug Catching Contest¶
A $25,000 Party Room event launched from the city party lever: a 5 minute bug-catching competition held in the arena, announced to the whole server when it begins.
How it works¶
- Bug-type Pokemon spawn in the arena for the full 5 minutes, a new one every 4 seconds, drawn from the whole bug-type dex (Caterpie through Slither Wing).
- Each spawn has a 1 in 7,500 chance to be shiny.
- Your score is 1 point per catch plus a size bonus of up to 5 for unusually large bugs, so a single giant catch can be worth six points.
- Only bugs caught in the city count toward your score.
The live leaderboard¶
While the contest runs, a leaderboard hologram floats above the /partyroom teleport spot and updates every second:
- The header shows bug Pokemon sprites and the contest title, with the time remaining underneath.
- The top three scores are listed as #1 / #2 / #3 with each player's name and points. A place only appears once a player actually holds it, and before anyone scores the board simply says "Catch bugs to score points!"
The hologram disappears when the contest ends.
Rewards¶
The top three finishers win:

Ties share the same placement, so two players on equal points both take that placement's reward.
