Server Events

The server runs timed, server-wide events that boost skill XP, shiny odds, boss spawns, or Legendary spawns for everyone at once. Every event is announced in chat with its own icon, and you can check what is running at any time.

How to access

You do not sign up for events, they simply apply to everyone while active. When one begins, a message is broadcast to the whole server. To see everything currently running and how much time is left, use /checkevent (or /checkevents).

There are two event slots that run at the same time: one is always cycling on its own, and the other is started on demand. Each event has its own page with full details:

The rotating slot

One skill event is always running, and it rotates automatically once per hour. Each hour the server rolls a new one: a 1 in 10 chance of a Shiny Event, otherwise a Double EXP Event for a random skill.

Event What it boosts Duration
Double EXP Event 2x skill XP for one randomly chosen skill for the whole server 1 hour
Shiny Event Every shiny roll on the server is 20% more likely 1 hour

A Shiny Event can also be forced with a Shiny Event Token or bought at the Party Room lever; see the Shiny Event page.

The on-demand slot

The second slot holds either a Legendary Event or a Supreme Event, started by tossing their event tokens. Only one of the two can run at a time, and they do not chain into each other.

Event What it boosts Duration
Legendary Event Legendary Pokemon spawn far more often server-wide 1 hour
Supreme Event Doubles Supreme Boss spawn odds, and doubles Supreme Boss loot-chest odds in dungeons (2% to 4%) 1 hour

When a Legendary or Supreme Event runs out, the server announces that it has concluded.

Restarts

Event state is saved to disk and resumes after a server restart. Because events track real-world time, a running event picks back up with the correct time remaining, and any event that would already have ended is rolled over as normal.

Chat games

Alongside the boost events, the server automatically cycles chat mini-games (Chat Race and Who's That Pokemon) that any online player can win for Shiny Mystery Keys. They have their own page: Chat Games.
