Battle ELO¶
Battle ELO is the server's ranked PvP ladder. You queue for a competitive format, get matched against another player, and your rating rises or falls with the result. Climb through the rank tiers to earn one-time trophy rewards.

Formats¶
There are eight competitive formats: Random, Ubers, OU, UU, RU, NU, PU, and Monotype. Seven of them can be queued for; Monotype is available through direct challenges and practice only.
Every ranked battle is Singles at level 100. All of your Pokemon are set to level 100 for the fight, so it comes down to teambuilding and skill, not grinding levels. Sleep Clause, Species Clause, and one held item per team are enforced, Mega Evolution is allowed, and a short list of abilities and items is banned in the tiered formats.
Queues and matchmaking¶
Each format has its own queue. You join one queue at a time, and matches are made first come, first served rather than by rating, so you may face opponents above or below your level. You cannot queue while in a battle or in the dungeon world. The server reminds you in chat every few minutes while you wait.
Teams¶
You can bring a team you built yourself or use a generated preset. You may save up to 35 team presets per tier and select one as your active team. If you have no team selected for a format, the server assembles a legal six-Pokemon team for you. Every team Pokemon battles at level 100.
Ratings and ranks¶
- Everyone starts at a rating of 1000 in each format.
- Your first 10 games in a format are placement matches, and you show as Unranked until you finish them.
- Wins raise your rating and losses lower it, scaled by the gap between you and your opponent, with small bonuses for win streaks against different players. Your rating never drops below 0. Battles that end in under 2 minutes 30 seconds, hit the 15-minute time limit, or end in a draw do not change your rating.
Once you have played your placement games you hold a rank tier based on your rating:
| Tier | Rating |
|---|---|
| Sapphire | 0 to 1000 |
| Ruby | 1001 to 1074 |
| Emerald | 1075 to 1249 |
| Diamond | 1250 to 1349 |
| Platinum | 1350 to 1499 |
| Ascendant | 1500 and up |
Reaching Ruby or higher for the first time is announced to the server.
Rank rewards¶
Each tier from Ruby up grants a one-time reward you claim with /elorewards. The trophy Pokemon arrive at level 50 in the exclusive trophy palette. You need a free party slot and inventory space to claim.
| Tier reached | Reward |
|---|---|
| Ruby | Komala and 3 Shiny Mystery Keys |
| Emerald | Polteageist and 2 Supreme Keys |
| Diamond | Spiritomb and 4 Supreme Keys |
| Platinum | Spinda and 8 Supreme Keys |
| Ascendant | Mew and 20 Supreme Keys |
Practice battles¶
Not ready to risk your rating? Start a Test Battle against a practice NPC in any format with /battle <format> npc or the hub button. The NPC uses a full tier team and advanced AI, and these battles never affect your rating or record.
A leaderboard in the city tracks the top players by total rating across all formats.
