Chat Games¶
Chat Games are quick puzzles that pop up in chat throughout the day. Be the first to answer correctly and you win a Shiny Mystery Key. There are two games, and they take turns appearing on their own.
How they work¶
You do not start Chat Games yourself. They fire automatically while players are online:
- Chat Race appears every 25 to 69 minutes.
- Who's That Pokemon appears every 30 to 75 minutes.
Each round gives everyone a 60-second window to answer. Answers are typed straight into chat and are not case-sensitive, so you never need a command. The first player to post the correct answer wins. If nobody solves it in time, the round closes and the next one is scheduled. When nobody is online, the game simply waits and tries again later.
Chat Race¶
The server posts a scrambled Pokemon name. Unscramble it and type the correct species name in chat before anyone else.
Who's That Pokemon¶
The server shows a darkened silhouette of a Pokemon along with its name obscured, with only a couple of letters revealed per part of the name and the rest hidden. Work out the species and type its full name in chat. When someone gets it, the sprite is revealed in full.
Rewards¶
| Game | Reward |
|---|---|
| Chat Race | 1 Shiny Mystery Key |
| Who's That Pokemon | 1 Shiny Mystery Key |
Both games keep records: the fastest winning time for each species plus an all-time top three, and winning announcements call out when you beat a record.
Tip
Keep an eye on chat while you play. Winning times are measured to the hundredth of a second, so the fastest typist wins.
