Skyblock

Skyblock is a self-contained island mode. You start on a tiny platform floating in the void and grow it into a sprawling homestead, running a Pokemon-powered ranch and a fully sealed island economy that never touches the main server.

Starting your island

Type /skyblock (short form /is). The first time you use it, the server builds your island, drops you home with a starter Eevee, an Islander's Guide book, and 10 island credits to get going. Every later use just teleports you home.

To leave, type /skyblock leave and you return to wherever you entered from.

The sealed economy

Skyblock is walled off from the rest of the server on purpose, so nothing can be smuggled in or out.

  • Party swap. When you enter, your real party and main inventory are safely stashed away and you start with your island party. When you leave, everything swaps back. Your island Pokemon live in the Island PC, and island items live in the Island Bank.
  • Island credits are the only currency, earned only on the island (through the Drifter and the ranch) and spent only on the island (tiers, storage, and ranch upgrades). They never turn into server money.
  • Island storage. While on the island, PC and chest blocks open your island storage, not your real global PC. You can send a Pokemon to your real PC as a one-way export, but there is no way to pull items or Pokemon in from outside.

Expanding

Your island starts as a small homestead. Spend credits with /skyblock expand to grow the buildable area through 100 tiers, from a 2 by 2 plot all the way up to a 1000 by 1000 homestead. As you climb, the island's build material and theme change through four ages, from cobblestone through stone and obsidian up to the endstone tiers, where loot nodes start appearing across the grounds. Every tenth tier adds a pond, and every twentieth adds a lava source.

The ranch

The ranch is the heart of island income. You assign your island Pokemon as workers on machines, and those machines produce resources while you are away. There are 11 machines in all, covering producers (cobble, berries, and more), cookers, crafters, and a smasher that grinds Pokemon into Poke Dust.

  • Each worker's output depends on how well it fits the machine: its level, its stats, whether its type matches, its nature, IVs, EVs, the ball it is in, shininess, and more. Shiny workers give a bonus, and shinies you caught yourself count for extra.
  • Machines level up to 10, raising their output and their worker and storage capacity.
  • Keep the trough stocked with food or your workers tire and slow down, and let exhausted workers recharge at the bed.
  • Crafting machines let you brew potions, cook meals, and make candies, and you can drink island tonics that boost ranch output, mining and woodcutting XP, or spawn rates for a while.

Your workers even wander the homestead as walk-through statues, working, eating, and sleeping. Right-click one of your own to recall it to your party.

Bank, PC, and the Drifter

  • Island Bank (/skyblock bank): item storage of four pages. The first is free; the rest cost credits. It only opens while you are on the island.
  • Island PC: your island Pokemon storage, with boxes of 30. You start with one box and can buy up to eight, shared with your island members.
  • Drifblim Drifter (/skyblock drifter): the credit faucet. It offers six produce trades a day, the same for everyone, buying your cobble, logs, fish, berries, ores, and gems for credits.

Members and visiting

Islands can be shared. From the island panel (/skyblock manage), the owner can invite online players, and members can build, catch, and gift Pokemon on the plot and share the Island PC. Use /skyblock visit <player> to hop to an island you belong to. Only the owner can expand the island or manage its members.
