Abyss Tier¶
Abyss is the fourth rung of the tier ladder: Shadow, Corrupt, Void, Abyss, Eternal, Infinity. It sits one step above Void and one below Eternal. Abyss is the first tier that keeps its rank on a failed upgrade.
Getting an Abyss Pokemon¶
Abyss is reached only at the Cloning Machine, by upgrading a Void Pokemon.
| Step | Max success (three Netherite) | On failure |
|---|---|---|
| Void to Abyss | 18% | keeps its tier (stays Void) |
Level cap¶
| Tier | Level cap |
|---|---|
| Abyss | 200 |
An Abyss Pokemon earns battle experience normally and levels to 200. Exp Candies (XS through XL) work. Rare Candies and rare sodas never work on any tiered Pokemon.
Stat scaling¶
Abyss is about +50% across the board (each Normal stat multiplied by roughly 1.5).
| Stat | Normal Bulbasaur | Abyss Bulbasaur |
|---|---|---|
| HP | 45 | 68 |
| Attack | 49 | 74 |
| Defense | 49 | 74 |
| Sp. Atk | 65 | 98 |
| Sp. Def | 65 | 98 |
| Speed | 45 | 68 |
| Total | 318 | 480 |
Look¶
- Name color: a dark red to bright red to dark red gradient.
- Aura: a ring expands outward across the ground every second, shifting from black through dark red to red as it widens, with an occasional dark particle drifting overhead.
Tier rules¶
- Evolves within its tier. Where the line evolves, an Abyss Pokemon evolves into the Abyss form of its next stage.
- Shadow Moves and tier effectiveness. It fights with Shadow Moves, which compare tiers instead of types: a higher-tier attacker deals double, an equal or lower tier deals half. Abyss beats Shadow, Corrupt, and Void, and loses out to Eternal and Infinity.
- No heart gauge, no Hyper/Reverse Mode.
Purification¶
Purifying returns the Pokemon all the way to its Normal form and swaps its Shadow Moves back to a regular moveset. From Abyss, the only route is a Time Flute; the Purification Shrine only accepts a gauge-empty Shadow Pokemon.
