Mystery Chests¶
The Mystery Chest is a single reward chest at city spawn. Hold a key and open it for a spin of loot: held items, Mega Stones, bottle caps, rare balls, cash, and special palette Pokemon. Better keys unlock better pools.
How to access¶
Run /crates to teleport straight to the Mystery Chest, or run /spawn and just walk forward. The chest is opened by interacting with it directly:
- Right-click the chest while holding a key to open it.
- Shift + right-click the chest to skip the spinning animation and get your reward instantly.
- Right-click the air while holding a key to preview that key's full reward list and odds before you spend one.
- You need at least one free inventory slot (a Texture Key needs a free party slot instead, since it gives a Pokemon).
Two items can save your key as it is spent. A full set of Space Armor has a chance to preserve the key (10% on a Mystery or Texture Key, 5% on a Shiny, 1% on a Supreme). When you open a Shiny Mystery Key, a Wishing Piece in your inventory is also consumed for a separate 1 in 5 chance to save that key.
Keys and tiers¶
There is one chest; the key you hold decides the tier. All four keys are earned through play (they are not bought with a command). Common sources include Found Chests loot, Hunts, the Battle Point shop, ranked ELO rewards, the exchange menus, dungeon and clan rewards, the Battle Pass, and chat games.
| Key | Reward theme |
|---|---|
| Mystery Key | The everyday chest: balls, held and evolution items, Mega Stones, bottle caps, and a cash bonus |
| Shiny Mystery Key | Upgraded pool with candies, goo, orbs, Mega Bags, and a shot at Legendary Orbs |
| Texture Key | Gives a custom palette Pokemon at level 40 instead of items |
| Supreme Key | The top pool: supreme goo and orbs, ultimate candy, legendary tokens, and huge cash |

Found Chests are separate¶
The Found Chests system is a different feature. Those are naturally generated chests you stumble on around the overworld, nether, and end. Opening one for the first time fills it with generated loot and grants Thieving XP, and their loot can include Mystery Keys and Shiny Mystery Keys, which is how the two systems connect. Found Chests have no keys or spinning animation of their own.
Tip
Right-click the air with the key in hand first to read the exact odds for the key you are holding, so you know what you are spinning for before you spend it.
