Skills Overview

PixelmonMMO has an MMO-style skill system. There are nine skills, each levels independently, most have their own training area in the Skill World, and they all feed into quests, achievements, and prestige.

Every skill runs from level 1 to a maximum of level 99 on a classic MMO experience curve, where each level costs more than the last. Warp to the training hub any time with /skillhub, or right-click the Skill Hub NPC in the city.

The skills

Click a skill for its full information page: every XP source, the complete perks-by-level chart, and its prestige perks.

Skill How you train it
Catching Catching Pokemon, with Type Zones in the Skill World
Battling Winning battles against trainers and wild Pokemon, boss zones, and ranked play
Mining Mining stone and ore; every rock you have the level to mine pays Mining XP, at the Skill World rocks, AFK nodes, and Prison mines
Fishing Fishing with a rod, including AFK fishing in the Skill World, with per-biome collections in /fishingdex
Woodcutting Chopping logs; every tree you have the level to chop pays Woodcutting XP, at the Skill World trees and AFK trees
Gathering Picking berries and apricorns; every berry you have the level to pick pays Gathering XP, with the Berry Field as the hotspot
Thieving Pickpocketing NPCs and robbing stalls, registers, and chests
Agility Travelling on foot, one step at a time, plus /parkour courses
Dungeoneering Clearing dungeons and defeating dungeon bosses

Each skill unlocks perks as it levels. To name a few: Mining, Woodcutting, and Gathering unlock new blocks, logs, and berries to harvest as you level, Battling unlocks the boss zones at levels 10, 40, and 80, Fishing speeds up and improves its rare reel odds, and Dungeoneering unlocks each of the 35 dungeons as you climb. Your full perk list, unlocked and locked, is shown in the skill menu, and each skill's page here charts it level by level.

Experience lamps

XP lamps are redeemable items that grant a chunk of experience to a skill of your choice. Right-click a lamp to open its menu, then pick the skill to spend it on. The menu also has a random slot that grants double XP to a random skill. Each click uses one lamp from your hand.

Lamps come in three sizes:

Lamp Experience
Small 20,000
Medium 200,000
Large 500,000

Dungeoneering cannot be leveled with lamps and is not in the random pool. All eight other skills are.

Prestige

Once a skill hits level 99 you can prestige it. Prestiging resets that skill's experience back to zero, raises its prestige rank by one, and awards a new prestige perk. You can prestige each skill up to 10 times.

Every prestige rank paints your name in that tier's colour gradient, from the tier 1 water gradient up to the tier 10 gold gradient, and reaching a new prestige (or hitting level 99) is broadcast to the whole server. Prestige is tracked separately for every skill, so you can chase it on the skills you enjoy most.

Prestige perks are meaningful, not just cosmetic. For example, Agility prestige ranks speed up egg hatching and shadow purification while you walk and boost the Mystery Keys and shiny odds you find on the move, and Catching prestige ranks guarantee stronger IVs on your catches. The full perk-per-rank tables are on the Prestige page and on each skill's own page. Note that a prestiged skill earns experience more slowly, so each prestige is a genuine trade-off.

Skill quests

/quests includes one-time, timed, collection, and milestone quests for every skill. Higher tiers pay out Texture Keys and other premium rewards.

Highscores

Every skill has a highscore board showing the top players by total experience. Eight of the boards stand in the city plaza, and the Dungeoneering board is in the Skill World. Boards refresh automatically, so climbing the ranks shows up within minutes.

Tip

The Skill World hub has a ring of labeled training areas, one column per skill, all facing the center. Warp in with /skillhub and walk the circle to find your next training spot.
