Breeding¶
Breeding lets you produce eggs from two compatible Pokemon at a Day Care, then hatch them by walking. The server uses standard Pixelmon breeding with a few tweaks: the tools are sold in a shop, the breed and hatch commands are rank-gated, and your Agility skill speeds up egg hatching.
Getting started¶
Breeding needs a Day Care block. The Day Care and the main breeding items are sold at the Training & Breeding Items shop:
| Item | Price | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Day Care | $50,000 | The block you breed at |
| Everstone | $40,000 | A parent holding it passes down its nature |
| Destiny Knot | $50,000 | A parent holding it passes down more IVs |
| Gold Hourglass | $10,000 | Instantly completes a Day Care's egg timer |
Right-click a placed Day Care block to open it and put two parents inside.
Compatibility¶
Two Pokemon can breed if they share an egg group, or if one of them is Ditto (Ditto pairs with almost anything). A few rules:
- Gender must be compatible: two of the same gender cannot breed unless one is Ditto.
- Pokemon in the Undiscovered egg group cannot breed at all, not even with Ditto. This covers most baby Pokemon and legendaries.
- By default two Dittos cannot produce an egg.
How eggs are produced¶
The Day Care is timer-based. When you place two valid parents, the egg is generated right away and a timer counts down until you can collect it. You do not have to walk around to make the egg, only to hatch it later.
- A Gold Hourglass (the one sold in the shop) instantly completes an egg timer. A Silver Hourglass adds 25% progress per use, a Copper Hourglass skips one breeding requirement, and a Diamond Hourglass completes the timer and gives the egg perfect 31 IVs.
- The Oval Charm halves breeding time. It is not an item you carry: it is a permanent account unlock claimed from the Dex Achievements (Default Dex tier 7, catch 650 species, or Texture Dex tier 7).
The baby is the base form of the mother's line (or the non-Ditto parent's line when Ditto is involved). Special cases like Nidoran and Volbeat/Illumise are randomized, and holding a matching incense item (Sea Incense, Lax Incense, Rose Incense, and so on) produces the baby stage instead of the base form.
Hatching¶
Once you have an egg in your party, carry it while you move around to walk off its egg cycles. The egg passes through visible stages before it hatches into the baby.
Two things speed hatching up:
- A fire in the party. Carrying any Pokemon with the ability Flame Body, Magma Armor, or Steam Engine doubles the egg progress every step. A Magmar, Magcargo, or Coalossal in slot 1 is the classic hatching partner. The bonus does not stack across multiple such Pokemon.
- Your Agility skill. Reaching Agility level 25, 50, 75, or 99 multiplies the steps each egg gains by 2, 3, 4, or 5, and Agility prestige pushes it to 6 and then 8. Higher Agility means far fewer laps to hatch.
Breeding guide: passing everything down¶
This is the full inheritance rulebook, with worked examples. The short version: Destiny Knot for IVs, Everstone for nature, Power items for a specific stat, mother's side for ability and ball.
IVs¶
The baby inherits 3 IVs copied from its parents' twelve (each pick randomly chooses which parent's value to take), and the other 3 stats roll random. Two items change this:
- A Destiny Knot on EITHER parent raises the inherited count to 5 of 6. One knot is enough; two add nothing.
- A Power item guarantees the holder's matching stat passes: Power Weight for HP, Power Bracer for Attack, Power Belt for Defense, Power Lens for Special Attack, Power Band for Special Defense, and Power Anklet for Speed. Guaranteed stats count toward the inherited total. If both parents hold the same Power item, only the first one's guarantee applies half the time, so give them different items.
Worked example: you want a fast, hard-hitting Dragonite. Pair a Dratini with 31 Attack holding a Power Bracer against a Ditto with 31 Speed holding a Destiny Knot. Every egg is guaranteed the parent's 31 Attack, plus 4 more IVs copied from the pair, Speed among them more often than not. Hatch a few, keep the best baby, swap it in as the new parent, and repeat: each generation compounds because the babies inherit from ever-better parents.
Nature¶
Natures roll random unless a parent holds an Everstone, which passes the holder's nature 100% of the time. If both parents hold one, the baby takes one of the two natures at 50/50.
Worked example: keep one Adamant Ditto with an Everstone as your permanent "nature donor". Whatever you breed it with, every egg is Adamant, and the other parent is free to hold the Destiny Knot.
Ability¶
The mother (or the non-Ditto parent when a Ditto is involved) passes her exact ability slot 80% of the time; the roll drops to 60% when the non-Ditto parent is male or carries a Hidden Ability through Ditto. If the passing parent has its Hidden Ability, that same roll is the HA inheritance chance, so a HA mother is the way to breed HA babies. Fail the roll and the baby gets a random regular ability.
Worked example: you own a Hidden Ability female Dragonite (Multiscale). Breed her with any Dragon-group male or a Ditto: each egg has a strong chance to hatch Multiscale Dratini. A HA male paired with Ditto still works, just at the reduced 60% odds.
Moves¶
The baby knows its level-1 moves, plus egg moves either parent can pass, plus moves the father knows that the baby's line can learn by TM or tutor. Pichu hatches knowing Volt Tackle when a parent holds a Light Ball.
Poke Ball¶
The baby hatches in the mother's ball (the non-Ditto parent's when breeding with Ditto; a 50/50 pick when both parents are the same species). Master Balls and Cherish Balls never pass down; the game falls back to the other parent's ball, or a plain Poke Ball. This is how ball collectors keep breeding lines in Beast Balls or Love Balls.
Shiny breeding¶
Breeding supports the Masuda method: if the two parents have different original trainers, the egg's shiny chance is multiplied by 6. The Shiny Charm (a permanent Dex Achievements unlock, not a carried item) multiplies the odds again and stacks with Masuda. The cheapest setup: breed your own Pokemon against a Ditto traded from another player and hatch in bulk with a Flame Body partner.
Commands¶
Breeding and hatching are rank-gated. The Day Care GUI is available to everyone, but the shortcut commands require a donor rank:
| Command | Requirement |
|---|---|
/breed <slot1> <slot2> |
Breed two party Pokemon (Beast rank and up). Cooldown 15 minutes at Master rank and above, 30 minutes otherwise |
/hatch <slot> |
Instantly hatch an egg in a party slot (Ultra rank and up) |
Breeding is disabled inside Skyblock and the dungeon world.
