Use in breeding

A parent holding an Everstone passes its own nature to the baby 100% of the time. Without one, every egg rolls a random nature.

Scenario 1, the nature Ditto: catch or trade for a Ditto with the nature you want (say Adamant), give it the Everstone, and breed it with anything. Every egg is Adamant, so you can focus the rest of your breeding on IVs.

Scenario 2, locking a caught nature: your Modest Rotom is perfect except for its IVs. Give IT the Everstone and pair it with a high IV partner holding a Destiny Knot: the baby keeps Modest and inherits 5 IVs.

Both parents holding Everstones: the baby gets one of the two natures at 50/50. Useful only if you would be happy with either.

Outside of breeding, the holder never evolves from leveling up, which is how you keep a Pikachu a Pikachu.
