Battling Skill¶
Train Battling by winning battles, against wild Pokemon and trainers alike. Every bit of experience your Pokemon earn in battle also pays you Battling XP, and higher Battling levels feed your Pokemon more XP in return.
Earning Battling XP¶
You earn Battling XP as a percentage of the Pokemon experience gained in a battle. That percentage climbs with your Battling level:
| Battling level | Share of Pokemon XP earned as Battling XP |
|---|---|
| 1 to 14 | 5% |
| 15+ | 7.5% |
| 40+ | 10% |
| 66+ | 12.5% |
| 80+ | 17.5% |
| 95+ | 25% |
The XP is pooled during a battle and granted a couple of seconds after it ends, so you see one total rather than a trickle. Knocking out level 100 Pokemon still counts. PvP battles pay only 1 percent of the normal Battling XP.
Your Battling level also boosts the XP your own Pokemon gain, from +5 percent at level 15 up to +25 percent at level 99 (prestige pushes this to +33 percent at Prestige 3 and +50 percent at Prestige 7).
Prestiging Battling lowers the XP you earn afterward by 5 percent per prestige rank.
Where to train¶
Battling sits at the north of the Skill World hub ring. From there you can reach /battlecaves for grinding, the three boss-zone teleport pads, and ranked PvP. Trainer battles anywhere in the world count, and defeating a trainer also pays out money (multiplied by prestige), a chance at Mystery Keys, and a chance to boost an IV on your winning Pokemon.
The boss zones are a strong Battling grind: the easy zone grants 3x Battling XP and the medium zone 7.5x while you fight inside them.
Boss zones¶
The signature Battling unlocks are the three boss zones, reached from teleport pads in the Skill World hub:
| Zone | Battling level | What waits |
|---|---|---|
| Easy | 10 | Gather 10 souls to summon a level 40 boss |
| Medium | 40 | Gather 40 souls to summon a level 60 boss |
| Hard | 80 | Five level 200 mini-bosses, then a level 500 Arceus |
Perks by level¶

| 90 | 5% IV boost chance for the Pokemon who won |
| 99 | +25% Pokemon XP from battles; +400% Battling XP |
The "Battling XP" bonuses in the menu are the same self-XP share ladder shown in the Earning Battling XP table above. Not advertised as its own perk in the menu, the code also steps that share to 12.5% at level 66 and to 25% at level 95, so you actually reach the top share a few levels before the +400% label at 99.
Prestige Perks¶
At level 99 you can prestige Battling up to 10 times, earning one permanent perk per prestige. See the Battling prestige table for context.
| Prestige | Perk |
|---|---|
| 1 | 25% Mystery Key from trainers plus a 5% Shiny upgrade |
| 2 | Triple trainer money |
| 3 | +33% Pokemon XP from battles |
