Snag Machine

The Snag Machine is the device that lets you catch a Pokemon that already belongs to a trainer. Normally a Poke Ball bounces off another trainer's Pokemon in battle, but the Snag Machine converts an ordinary ball into a Snag Ball that sticks.

You obtain it during the Orre campaign, and it is what makes snagging possible there: throw a Poke Ball at a Cipher trainer's Shadow Pokemon mid-battle to steal it for yourself. The snag uses your ball's normal catch chance, only works on a Shadow Pokemon, and only on trainers you are meant to face at that point in the story.
