Ghost palette¶
A server palette. Ghost Pokemon glow with a soul-fire aura, and on wild rolls ghost is checked before shiny, so a ghost is never also a shiny.
Where ghosts come from¶
| Source | Odds |
|---|---|
| Wild spawns | 1 in 80,000 |
| Fishing | 1 in 80,000 |
| Catching Type Zones | 1 in 80,000 |
| Lingering Spirit (see below) | 1 in 8,000 |
| Legendary battles | 1 in 5,000 |
| Alpha Boss reward copy | 1 in 750 |
| Supreme Boss reward copy | 1 in 500 |
Night and graveyard boosts¶
The wild and fishing rate improves at night, from 1 in 80,000 to about 1 in 72,000. Near a graveyard structure at night it improves again, to about 1 in 64,800. Type zone ghost rolls are a flat 1 in 80,000 with no boost, and boss reward copies use their own flat odds.
Lingering Spirit¶
When you knock out a genuinely wild Pokemon (not catching it, not letting it flee, and not a boss), there is a 1 in 8,000 chance it leaves a catchable ghost copy at the spot where it fell. The copy is the same species, form, and level, with 3 guaranteed perfect stats. This roll is a flat 1 in 8,000 with no night or graveyard boost, and it does not happen in the city, dungeons, Skyblock, or the story regions.
Guaranteed ghost sources¶
Some items produce a ghost Pokemon outright, with no roll:
- Ghostly Goo: a random non-legendary at level 25, sometimes as a regional form.
- Ghostly Candy: turns a Pokemon you own ghost (fails if it is already ghost).
- Ghostly Orb: a random legendary at level 70.
